If You Don’t Believe, Who Will?

Believe in your worth. If you don’t, why would anyone else?

A lot of people are laid off and looking for work. It can be hard to stay motivated during such times, but instead of looking at the negative, try to see the opportunity. So many people dream about working for themselves, but instead of taking the risk, continue to follow a path that someone else laid out for them because it seems safer. When you trust yourself, you can trust the creation of your own path.

When I moved to Boston from the Midwest, I was a fresh college graduate with just $200 in my bank account. I took a retail job that I didn’t want. Meanwhile, I hustled to get the job I did want (in tech PR) and kept interviewing. It took me one month. Less than two years later, I started my own business (the first of three!). I didn’t have the experience, I didn’t have a big savings account to rely on, and I was running on instinct. But what I did have was a belief that I could do things better and differently. I also believed that I was the best person to design the life that I wanted. So I did. And so can you.
